Breaking Silence is an initiative created by students of American Studies. The 14-day anti-racism challenge will discuss topics like racism, white privilege, white supremacy, white fragility and what true “allyship” looks like. Participation is invited online and offline.
The challenge starts with a virtual kick-off event on March 12, 2021 (6 - 8 p.m.) with four different speakers offering insights into their work in the field of anti-racism and activism (see the speakers’ names above). The event is free and open to the public and will be held in both English and German. The link to attend the virtual kick-off-meeting will be posted on the Facebook event page on the day of the event. More information on the event and the challenge can be found on this blog https://breaking-silence-graz.medium.com/ and on Instagram @breakingsilencegraz.
